The ABC began investing in the San Francisco Bay area in 1996 with
needs assessments and the implementation of various programs in
1997. Because of the vast geography and dispersed ABC employee populations,
creation of a comprehensive strategy has been a challenge until
recently. The ABC has implemented the Provider Resource Grant project
that allows employees of ABC companies to nominate their caregiver
to receive a grant for quality enhancements. Included in this initiative
is a provider survey to determine what other services these providers
could/would provide in the future. Data from this survey will be
used to help shape the ABC 2000 community strategy.
